Using Snipers As Close Range Weapons in COD4 +Video

Everyone knows Snipers are good at long range, but how are they in close combat? Are they better than Pistols? At close range bolt action Snipers are obviously bad but the singe shot weapons are surprisingly strong. They have terrible accuracy but being able to spam them crazy fast and only needing to land one shot to land a kill makes up for that. I figured the best way to show this was with a quick Call of Duty video montage of my own close range Sniper kills with the Barrett 50 Cal. All pistols can kill with two shots to any part of the body (stopping power, close range) and have somewhat decenct hip fire. Most of the semi-auto sniper rifles may be able to kill with 1 shot, but only to vital areas and the hip fire is comedically awfull. With that being said, I’m with you. I find myself using the pistol mid range and switching to the sniper for close range. lol

Use the steady aim perk. If you are able to aim will with steady aim then you can get easy kills. For mid range use an acog.

Sniper rifles are not close-range weapons. The fact that Treyarch allows them to be close range weapons shows that they cater to douchebag camping, sniping sissies.
