Everyone knows Snipers are good at long range, but how are they in close combat? Are they better than Pistols? At close range bolt action Snipers are obviously bad but the singe shot weapons are surprisingly strong. They have terrible accuracy but being able to spam them crazy fast and only needing to land one shot to land a kill makes up for that. I figured the best way to show this was with a quick Call of Duty video montage of my own close range Sniper kills with the Barrett 50 Cal. If you have the bandwidth I would suggest clicking on the embedded video link after the jump and watching the high quality version at youtube.

<!--
–>

Now back to the original question, are single shot Snipers better than pistols at close range? At medium range trying to no scope with Snipers is hopeless and you generally can’t get your scope up and aim fast enough. Therefore at medium range Pistols are better. At close range it is a totally different story, the accuracy issues with Snipers are reduced and you can shot it just as fast as a pistol only it has a one shot kill.

The bottom line: Snipers are better than Pistols as close range weapons, but Pistols are better as medium range weapons.
