No COD4 Call of Duty 4 1.8 Patch in the Near Future for PC
Infinity Ward has kept up the PC version of Call of Duty 4 updated regularly with patches; up until this point. From rumors circulating online it would appear that there will be no 1.8 patch coming to Call of Duty 4 PC players unless a huge exploit or monumental change to the game occurs.
Console players are also going to be out of updates after the new game types and playlists are updated.
This is disappointing given how well received the 1.7 patch/map pack was. It is also troublesome because a number of obvious glitches still exist in the game, the G3 knifing bug and various wall glitches to name a few. The PC version of the game also totally lacks the new kill cams that console players got, which were supposed to be released in the 1.7 patch but were pulled at the last second due to technical difficulties. This is by no means signals the death of Call of Duty 4 though, the game continues to be wildly popular on both the console and PC. This will likely remain true even after Call of Duty: World at War comes out, just based on how popular COD2 still is.
well that’s disapointing that pc players won’t get the new killcams. i guess that’s karma for having the game on a superior platform.
oh well, i play hardcore with the killcam off most of the time anyway

To be honest, I don’t think this is wil be the last patch. Infinity ward ain’t working on CoD: World at war. They said they will be fixing stuff and adding more to CoD4. These rumors are just forum talk, they haven’t said offcially anything. So, don’t think all is lost just yet.
Infinity Ward you idiots. I’m sorry but, seriously. So far I am very worried about World at War. I mean at first I heard vehicles and thought cool. Now I’m starting to think about all of the things that have to be done to add vehicles. The maps will have to be larger and there will have to be more open areas. So now we lose one of the reasons I liked COD4 more than Halo3 which was smaller maps. I also thought that snipers were already cheap because of almost always 1 hits, plus all it took was a quick finger and quick scope to fight at close range, and with more open areas there could be more accursed Creek gameplay. People will be forced to camp in buildings to avoid the onslaught of snipers and the possibly over powered tanks and other vehicles. I know that a TON of people are going to be upset with the map style changes and play COD4, and those people(and me) will crave some new stuff or fixes. I mean not to undermine whoever is making COD5’s abillity to make games(I heard that IW isn’t working on COD5 but it could be false) but this is a recipe for disaster. It could be done right but I still don’t think you should fix what isn’t broken.
HoucK infinity ward isn’t working on cod5 since they are not making it. But i agree with leadslug, infinity ward need to give something to the consoles so they can brag about it. otherwise they have to brad about =P

i heard rumors that call of duty 5 will be just as fake as call of duty 3. i think thats why infinity ward didnt name “Call of Duty:World at War” Call of duty 5. the creator of the thrid one was a fake-as said on gameinformer. im pretty sure they are putting in the new patches for the killcam cuz they worked really hard to put it on youtube. if they put up a video and give up on it would be a waste of time and effort.
guys guys guys… Infinity ward isnt making world at war, and they have no reasons to stop making patches. They have lots of reasons to carry on making them… no more patches is just a rumour.
okay cod4source, i dunno what your sources are but my source (my uncle who works on call of duty 4) is solid, He has infomed me that there actually will be a patch but that for the pc they will need more time cus of faulty codes. This was a hard game to make, its even harder to change ;). yet i say to everyone:
1.8 WILL COME!

I hope there would be 1.8 patch. Cod4 is a game of realistic battlefields. Not like other games, it is not about the past or the future but most importantly the present and also making the game play very close to real battles. If they are stopping updating the game, they are making a big mistake as they are ruining the future of our favorite: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

well cod5 is just cod4 with new maps new guns and new skins
there are two teams that make cod games cod1 suckt cod3 suckt so cod5 (I think it sucks!) and
cod2 and cod4 are the best games from the series (I just wanna say) cod6 is going to be better (because I think its a better team that team owns all the game makers!)
