    is there some quantitative data for deep impact? this would be useful especially for those weapons that already have high penetration ratings, like the Barrett. I’m curious as to whether equipping DI would be pointless for the Barret because the penetration ability would be saturated/maxed out, i.e. there’s some kind of ceiling for penetration values, even with DI on. because if there is, then Barrett + SP + P90/W1200 Overkill would be amazing combo.

    Quantitative data for Deep Impact is hard to find because wall penetration depends on a huge number of factors. I will look into it some more and hopefully will be able to find a way to simplify it.

    After testing the subject, I can confidently say that Steady Aim reduces the crosshairs to 66% of their normal diameter, which reduces your hip-fire target area to 44% of its original size. I don’t know where the 75% number came from, but I’m quite sure it’s incorrect.

    I will look into Steady Aim again, when I tested it before I got 75%. The Deep Impact chart is alright, but it doesn’t take into account all the factors of wall penetration. For example bullets firing at a 90° through a wall do more damage then bullets firing at 45° through the same wall.

    I tested out the numbers for Steady Aim and it is in fact 66%, I will edit the chart to reflect this.

    Did some more testing on Double Tap. The bonus varies depending on the gun used. G36c seems to give between a 10-20% boost, M60 gives a 15-20% boost, Saw and P90 get about a 30% boost. RPD and AK-47 both get a whopping 50% boost in RoF… but both of those guns are bugged and have too low of a RoF in the first place (both are listed at 700 RPM, but only fire at 600 RPM). Also, the Pump Shotty and Bolt Actions seem to get about a 25% increase in RoF.

    Interesting I am getting the data off the program files, I will do some in game testing as well to see if the program file numbers match up.

    I tested it some more and looked at the program files, Double Tap provides a consistent 1.35x increase in the RPM of a weapon. It doesn’t matter which weapon you use, it is always 1.35x the original rate of fire.

    I tested it on the 360 and there are definately differences. The ak, mp44 and m60 get a 50% increase in rate of fire because they kill with 50% less bullets with stopping power.
    The P90 kills with 25% less bullets with stopping power so it’s not going to see a 50% increase in rate of fire.

    Yes Stopping Power, Deep Impact etc apply to all primary weapons and pistols.

    If you have the claymore perk equipped its left on the d-pad then press shoot to place it in the desired area

    For deep impact it just says increases penetration. How much?! All I need too know is a lot, a little, a good amount. I don’t need a percise exact number.

    Plus what assult riffle do you think I should use? The AK-47, the M4 Carbine, or the G36c? Also if I should use double tap or stopping power with it?(I checked the wepons list but It is still too close to tell which I should use.)

    Yes all the information is valid for the PS3 as far as I know. Alhtouhg the data was taken from the PC game files I don’t see why they’d change weapon values when they put it on a console.

    Yes the stats are all the same for PS3, Xbox and PC. There are a few exceptions and they are mentioned in the post if there are any.

    Throwing them at an exact 45 degree angle will give you the longest distance. Jumping right as you throw the grenade also will make it go farther. There isn’t much you can do beyond that though.

    i think the p90 already has double tap to begin with lol so maybe a quadrouple tap for p90 =)

    Are you sure that Sonic Boom increases the damage? and if so, why wouldn’t it increase the damage by 1.4. I heard that juggernaut cancels out stopping power and/or sonic boom.
    Many people say with conviction that Sonic Boom doesn’t increase the damage, but rather it increases the blast radius and size of the explosion. ???? So have you done any tests on it?

    When adding Stopping Power, does it add the decimal from the weapons chart or just replaced?

    Like for the M40. A torso or stomach shot will do 70 * 1.1. Will it become 1.5 with Stopping Power? If added i know it should be 2.5 but, that’s too much so yeah.

    Then the actually multiplier would be 70 * 1.54 for the M40 ? Right ?

    Yes you just multiply the numbers all the way through to get the final damage value. Your last example was correct.

    If I pick up a weapon that was dropped by someone using a grip do I get the benefits of the grip too? Is there a way that I can see if the weapon has a grip attached?

    The dead silence quote is wrong. when a player is crouching the make no noise whatsoever, It should just say reduces noise produced when upright and jumping

    guns like the g3, m21, m14 and so on are not affected by double tap, my clan tried a macroed gf with a 200 click per second fire key and there was no change in the rof og the gun, but i have noticed some change with the shotguns

    da only guns i really use are mp5, m16, m4 carbine, m21 and barret 50. cal :)

    Yes it does, but there is absolutely no point applying Double Tap to the Barrett, M21, any Pistol, or G3 or M14. The reason being, the maximum RoF on the barrett, for example, is 1200 RPM. Unless you can click the mouse > 10 times in half a second, you’ll never get any benefit from Double Tap applied to a semi-auto weapon with that sort of RoF. Similarly, all the other weapons i just mentioned have max RoF high enough that the actual RoF is determined by how fast you can click, not the maximum RoF.

    ha all i use is for any assault rifle is (at high lvls) 3x frags stopping power and martyrdom. Sub machine gun. Bandolier, double tap, steady aim. i dont use light machine guns there for sissys. Shotty is the auto. Grip, UV jammer, steady aim. AND for the sniper my fav is Claymore, Stopping power (1 shot one kill baby!) and Iron lungs. Period lol but for some reason i feel like a shallow player lol. and of course all the assaults and subs have red dot. i dont know this is what i use i have my bad games but i get at least 16 kills a game.

    Last I checked, Juggernaut was a .75 multiplier on all incoming damage. If it is met with stopping power they counteract immediately and their bonuses are ignored.

    I have a question. If you picked up someones gun and it had a grenade launcher on it, would you be able to use it? And if you picked up a gun with a grip on it (LMG or shotgun) would the bonuses still be carried over to you?

    1. No, You cannot use grenade launchers you pick up.
    2. Yes, grip bonuses stay with the gun, regardless of its change in ownership.

    If you have nothing in your inventory, you can pick up a gun with a Grenade Launcher, but it’ll be empty. I’ve rarely rarely found grenades for it. Occasionally, i’ve managed to get 2 IF the enemy drops swaps his gun for 1 on the floor and i pick it up right away. It’s rare to find ammo for it as for as i’ve seen.

    by the way bandolier isnt 2 more magz its 3x as much ammo e.g standard ak47 has 60 bullets and with bandolier it has 180 but 2 more magz would only be 120 bullets

    I don’t understand why some weapons are considered newb. Whenever I get killed with the grenade launcher I think to myself, “That guy is good with that thing.”

    I suppose the only thing more newb that using it is losing to it so if you don’t like it you shouldn’t throw stones.

    Really it’s annoying when you get killed by any weapon. I personally don’t believe any weapons are “noob” weapons. With every weapon on the game you need a certain degree of skill to use.

    It is a choice what weapon you use. If someone is annoying you with a certain weapon, you use that weapon! (this is also the same with Perks.)

    Plus I like Noob tubes, I think they take alot more skill to use than just normal frags do.

    I’ve noticed that with sonic boom the radius of the explosion increases. Running away from a regular martyrdom is easy running away from a sonic boom martyrdom is damn near impossible.

    @ Nick well a marty with sonic boom just means a even more lethal marty damage if your within the nades’ blast range.

    For people who are wondering why tubers aka grenade launchers users are noob, its cause the grenade from the tube usually do an instant kill and it has a blast radius too. Whereas if its a grenade, you’ll have to walk closer and be able to cock the grenade effectively and during this period you are vulnerable.
    I personally prefer grenadiers over grenade launchers any day, cause you can’t throw a tube grenade back. Oh and not to mention I do believe WCG bans Grenade launchers for its CoD4 tournaments (correct me if i’m wrong)

    The only skill that i see with the grenade launcher is to shoot it at shotgun range to get a “oomph” kill or direct hit kill. Its funny and its harder then it looks.

    Sadly I was suspecting some people to argue over juggernaut and calling it a noobs perk, but ohwell.

    I think no weapons are “noob” All can be great weapons just depends on the players skill. But the most annoying gun in CoD 4 in my opinion is the M16 this gun is a complete “no skill required” gun it so easy to get kills or get killed. My nickname for the M16 is “Lazer-Tag Gun” because you just need one shot and your dead its complete bullsh*t . ( This is just my opinion everyone has their own opinion no need to get all angry at me for saying this its just a game! )

    Deep impact is poop its just better for shooting through walls, use ACOG because it gives u a damage boost, and dead silence or anyhting else just dont use shiit deep impact on anything but snipers!

    Somewhere on the weapons/perks charts there should be a column for ‘skill needed to use.’ For example, martyrdom would be in the negatives since it takes absolutely no skill. in fact, it takes a lack of skill in order for a person to die, putting it in the negatives. Noob tub3z simiarly take no skill and would have a rating of about 1 out of 100. all you have to do is aim in their general direction and pull the trigger and kill anyone within several feet. voila! easy kills. last stand is annoying as hell and so is juggernaut, but people that have either of those perks arent too noobish, they just dont know better than to have anything better. RPGs are also annoying as shit but take skill to use at long distances. heres my personal favorite class that takes ridiculous amounts of skill. so 1337.

    M16 IS a noob gun, its stats are over the chart, it would been nicer if it had a longer reload time.
    But EVERyone uses it in a normal match, along with Stopping Power, I CAN’T STAND it.
    People need to get creative with thier classes.

    The m16 isnt as easy to use as many people think. It is one of the most deadly guns in the game. but up close if you miss with a burst your toast. To me no body say the p90 is a noob gun or whatever. but a lot of players use it. Why? its a kick ass gun. Any gun in the game can be deadly in the right hands. Its all a matter of what you like. The two things that get me is the knife, and the x that appears when you hit some one. i got knifed from at least 6 foot away. i mean come on . and the x if im behind a wall and there is no way in hell you see me but you put a couple rounds in the wall and oh an x keep shooting. just think its cheap. but any way love the game. kill on.

    ive notced that people are going on about if you use certain wepons your a noob well this is bullshit it all depends on your game play and what map your say if your on shipment how can using a glauncher be classed as a noob wepon its called using the situation to your advantage because the map is small you can get lots of kills and on the larger maps whats wrong with using uav jammer. the only thing i call nooby is using martydom on hardcore matches, glitching and hacking the game

    To be honest i use P90 with Marydorm deep impact and Juggernaut its really good im 11 so u no it balances out my playtimes 27 hours and im rank 40 unprestiged !

    You can slam people using the noobtube all you want, but fact is you at least have to aim the thing – people who moan about it are usually the same ones that spam 3x grenades all over the map every time they spawn – like THAT takes any skill whatsoever? Plus the tube gives away your position (blip on radar + leaves smoke trail on-screen for all to see) but grenades don’t.

    Also grenades are WAY stronger than the tube (check the chart – its also true in practice), you need Sonic Boom on if you expect to get easy tube kills from splash damage, and note that without Sonic Boom ONLY a direct hit will kill Juggernauts – splash damage never will (even right next to them), unlike grenades.

    Anonymous – reason Juggernaut is not balanced against Stopping Power is because it increases your resilience to ALL forms of attack (except knife), whereas stopping power only makes your bullets stonger, so it is kind of unbalanced (and annoying as hell, which is why I don’t use it).
