hey where are some good spots and strategies for popular maps like Ovegrown, Backlot, Crash, and other maps that wont be skipped. For some reason I also get Chinatown and District a lot in hardcore search. I need to know these because I usually end up dying or staying in one spot the whole round w/o seeing anyone.
Another thing I would like to know would be how should I choose what target to go for each round and when too switch it up?

@Crash: I’d say using range is very good, because they are places you can get people were they don’t even know about… but smg are also useful for clearing the houses xD
i am a big fan of hardcore but its dominated by people spamming M21s and M4s all over the place but i think the best way to kill those people would be strategic placement of explosives like claymores and C4… its a lifesaver. a good add on would be how to plant explosives. it bothers me when somebody puts a claymore in the middle of a hallway of on top of a car, just basically explosives are good

What guns is good for HC Search and destroy?
if you are new M4 M21 P90 G36 but for more experienced players g3 m16 m40 shotguns and desert eagles
okay in you should considering doing ethier of these everytime: a: rush to the vantage point/ objective OR b: find a good camping spot that watches over the main vantage point or objective. i recommend using these guns always.SNIPER m21, ASSAULT g3/m4/ak/m16(silenced) SMG p90(reddot or silencer depending on map) SHOTGUNS (dont use these) LMG (dont use these).
and the most useful perks are:
1.uav jammer
2.deep impact
3.deadsilence
4claymores/c4s/noobtubes/rpgs (depending on weapon and your style)
5.overkill (useful for x4 noobtubes, or sniper+smg/assault)

and also obviously bandoliar is very useful for automatic weapons….
Bandoliar is not a good perk for S&D, whether hardcore or not, more often than not the round will not last long enough for you to go through a whole clip, and if you are low on ammo just pick up a dead persons gun..
Man you are right bandoliar is pointless, unless you have horrible aim.. in that case dont play hardcore anything.. if you cant hit someone with 2 bullets you need a new game
Hardcore search and destroy is definitely not the way to go for competitive play. Try pam SnD or even better, promod SnD. That is where the pros are with competitive play. If you want to check out a map google quadv (i can’t remember the exact web address of their website) and click on video on demand, choose the beta version and sort by game. pick cod4 and watch the EG vs lowland Lions finals for i34 (it is played on backlot followed by crash on the second vid.
The key to winning HS&D is to know the maps inside out. Knowing a few corners where you like to camp is not good enough. You have to know and judge where the enemies are about to go to by knowledge of the full map. This may seem impossible, but if you know the map well you can read enemy movements. Learning the maps is the key to success. Try some private matches with yourself if you want to explore maps and find secret spots. And at the start, that is probably hte most important part. You know where the enemy spawns – but the enemy knows where you spaw ntoo. Instead of following your predictable team mates to near certain death out in the open and ina bunch, gradually go away from them and surprise the enemy from another position on the map.

Well, a fast thing about M21 – The bad thing about that sniper, its loud. So you hear pretty much exactly where you shoot from, but still a nice sniper nevertheless. Just have your heads up when using it and make sure your first shot is the right shot.
use 1 nade early, w8 5 seconds then another, trust me it works for people who dont want to be out early. works best on district and back lot.
the 2 best create class for hardcore is gc36cc with overkill with a dragonov perk 1 claymore perk 2 overkill perk 3 extreame conditioning,the secong create a class is p90, with uav , perk 1 claymore get in enemy terroritory and claymore up, perk 2 uav, perk 3 only way to get in the best places before enemies get there is extreame conditioning, I SHOULD KNOW IM 15,000 IN THE WORLD ON PS3 AND PLAY ALL THE TIME WITH AS KARIM WHO IS 214 IN THE WORLD AND JULPOPE2 WHO IS 156 IN THE WORLD

i like my M21 , MP5 and G3
on certain maps a LMG can be used VERY effectively, like Bloc (or sniper city as i call it) you can get a RPD and “free fire” in short bursts through a the buildings and get a few kills every time, BUT you better have a buddy watching your back.

i reconn some of the lmg s can good because its heavy shit and you should be able to take em out quickly at a medium range , well saying that, i doo enjoy using my gold AK-47 and the nade luancher @ the begining i always
get 3 kills with , a nade and my nade luancher cuz u get ryt over the enemy area.

I mainly use 2 classes while playing S&D. 1 with the G3 (for spamming mostly),uav jammer,dead silence,and claymores. And my rushing class, the P90,sleight of hand,dead silence,and bomb squad. BS is helpful when rushing, for you will know locations of enemy clays…rather then rushing into them. Dead silence is always useful. I wouldnt suggest using extreme conditioning with the P90,its bugged so that you run longer than any other weapon, about equal to the sprint distance of E.C. Also…the G3 has a bug when silenced…occasionaly when you go to knife it will glitch and miss (the barrel is too long) hope this helps.
i use these two guns mainly
1. red tiger – M16 silenced: 1) bomb squad [it takes care of those claymore spammers]
2) stopping power [basically a one burst kill]
3) deep impact [cut through those walls and kill them silently]
_extra note: i dont use uav jammer cuz all i do when an enemy has it, is find a place to camp till it runs out, and no its not a noob move, its smart
2. red tiger – MP5 silenced: 1) claymores [cuz youll b playing close quarters wit this]
2) stopping power [once again]
3) dead silence [since its close quarters, you wanna b stealthy]
_also: i use the D-Eagle because it kicks ass and its a sweet looking pistol lol

First off stopping power is the worst for hardcore( reffering to saint). These are the classes i like to use:
m4 or g36c (silenced) 1 bomb squad 2 uav jammer 3 dead silence
Scorpion ACOG 1 c4 2 uav jammer 3 dead silence
M40 1 claymore 2 uav jammer 3 deep impact
Its’ all about the stealth in HCSnD

none of yoos have a clue. best class bye far in hardcore is m16 red dot or silencer. with claymores or bomb squad and dead silence is a must have
can anyone show me over xbl the prenade spots in cod4, i know pretty well the noob tube spots(except for downpour and defense on backlot). I think knowin all the pre nade spots will boost my k/d ratio greatly and help me to become a better player. please add xXEnergyRehabXx over xbl

HC s&d is by far my favorite. i use a m21 and silenced sidearm and my perks are 1-c4’s, 2- either uav jammer or stopping power, 3-iron lungs. haha its kinda lame, but it works… this is what i do on ‘defense’- when you begin, run to the to bombs and crawl close to them and throw the c4 underneath them so noone can see them. after their rigged, go to a sniping spot and pick off whoever you can find. as soon as you get notified that the bomb has been placed, i quick-detonate my c4’s so both places blow up, killing whoever planted the bomb. then simply kill any survivors and disarm it. then for ‘offense’ i usually never get the bomb, i just snipe the enemy around the target areas.

I usually use my M40A3 Sniper Rifle with overkill mp5 (silencer). perks : claymore, overkill (obviously), and iron lungs. i usually rush to a good sniping position kill a few people, then scout around with my mp5 after having placed my claymores. but generally, everyone should just play a shit lot of matches and use whatever works for them. i like seeing the diversity of all the comments…most are different, which is good indication to use what you feel is best.
The best hardcore search class i use is a M21 (its not noobish the only one’s who get kill by them say its noobish). I also put over kill it will help m21 with p90 or mp5 very deadly.make sure u have a silencer on ur other gun so ur like a ninja.alawys use claymores or c4s if u dont ur a complete Noooooob.Another perk i would use is dead silence stop ppl that have turtle beaches or the other crap from hearing u that easily remeber every ones getting them i get some 2 only 60 at best buy

rushing is the way to go, stopping power + 3x frag/3x stun’s + extreme conditioning, with strategic grenade throws are great.

Hey, I play a lot of hc search & destroy. People say Im amazing at cod4 but I just think that I play smart. I’ve seen a lot of people on here saying the m21 is good to use. Personally, I hate it. Usually it is used by people who can’t snipe. They just stand and shoot their whole clip at you haha.m40 is the way to go! Watching people play hc search pains me because of the way they play. People that I see play extremely slow and it’s really boring, always sitting in corners camping. Me, I do not, I rush. This is for more experienced players. Every map has a way or another to easily rush. My classes that I use is mp5 red dot, desert eagle,claymores, uav jammed, and extreme conditioning. Also I use m16 a lot, but I prefer mp5 for rushing. P90 is for beginners because usually, all you need to do is spray. As you are rushing use the claymores to plant in spots where you know people will go for example, outside a doorway, entrance before you get to the bomb. The best weapon combinations for hardcore search and destroy is:
-M16 with red dot sight or grenade launcher (i recommend the grenade launcher for hardcore as it will get you the first couple of kills you need.
-PERK 1 – c4, claymores or rpg’s can be useful.
-PERK 2 – sleight of hand if your triggy happy but i would recommend uav jammer for hc s&d.
-PERK 3 – extreme conditioning to get into the enemy territory a the start before they set up their camping positions or if you can’t reload in time and are getting shot at you can run away.
but the m16 is more for professional players as it fires in bursts so if your confonted by an enemy your first shot at the enemy counts and if it hits it should kill them but if it misses their likely to spray you with a pile of bullets and thats you round gone.

I am a tenth prestige, All gold guns, who has played around 13,000 matches so far. Im rank 6956 in wins but I am friends with players within the top 100 players. Hardcore Search is all we play. My best advice would be to just check your corners at all times. Something that helps with this is definetly cage match. Cage match as much as possible, although its not hardcore and you may need more than 2 bullets to kill someone (if im sniping, its a 1 shot kill). I say cage match helps you in hardcore play because it teaches you how to effectively rush another player and also predict their movement as well as their camping spots. My best advice (according to my style of play)
Sub Machine Gun- Any-
1st- Bomb Squad (when planting) Claymores (when defending)
2nd-Stopping Power( as opposed to UAV Jammer because it Stopping Power matters. Period. damage on enemy players without it, also i play better with the enemy uav on me because all i have to do is move around and catch other rushers trying to catch me.
3rd- Extreme Conditioning- This perk has saved my life a million times because of the fact that I gained a position before the enemy got there. (Dead Silence works well too but it doesnt really matter once you’ve mastered killing the 1st rusher on the other team, you can basically infiltrate the enemy spawn within a few seconds)
Also, knowing where and at what point in time to rush makes all the difference in facing any enemy player of any skill level. Example. in Crash when your planting, the main target to rush is A, rush through the blue room and rush into the bottom of A, preventing and enemy from getting there before you using a well aimed and cooked frag over the wall to the center of your screen. I plant my claymores on the step, and one by the bomb target. After, it is important NOT to camp once you’ve infiltrated A and planted claymores. Clear the sniper on the roof looking at A and rush the enemy spawn obviously checking corners because players tend to sit and wait for you to rush into them.
Improvisation helps more than anything. Its one thing to know where your enemy is, but the real mission is how to effectively rush your enemies and getting the round win. I would say pacing helps. If you know the enemy is around, dont just rush right in the door closest to them, wait around for that extra few milliseconds and catch them off gaurd.
So, now you know what I know, go out there and enjoy playing. Its just a game, you dont get any medals or achievements or any money for being number one, you just get bragging rights in match lobbies and stats. Do not sit and play for 5 hours straight like I usually do because it has affected my schoolwork and my final grades. Spend half and hour at most and then turn off the console. Come back on later when your finished getting everything done because COD4 is ADDICTIVE!. i play cod4 search and destroy a lot and if your going to play competively in tournaments or on gamebattles you need to not listen to a lot of these people. First off, if you play competitively almost everyone has turtle beaches. TB is actually a really good headset that allows you to hear other people when they run or walk by you. Therefore extreme conditioning is not the way to go because people can hear you from a mile away. Using a Mp5 or a p90 is sufficient enough and you dont need XC. Second off almost every class should have an m16. Powerful enought to shoot through walls and accurate enought to shoot from the hip its deffinately the weapon of choice unless your playing a larger map when you would need a sniper. My last tip is that you should be in constant communication with your teammates. Knowing where your teammate dies is a huge advantage because now you hopefully know where some players on the other team are. Don’t let your teammates die without giving you valuable information. Last tip is that if you have overkill and you have a sniper make sure to put your sniper first so you can have a ghillie suit.
