For those of you who also play COD5, this is patch 1.5 for Call of Duty: World at War and includes the Map Pack 2.

What’s new in Call of Duty 5: World at War Patch 1.5:

• 3 new MP maps: Banzai, Corrosion, Sup Pens!
• 1 new Zombie map with a new weapon (the Wunderwaffe DG-2), flaming Hell Hounds, new traps, and more: Shi No Numa!
• CO-OP hosts can now kick players from their lobby
• Improved dog spawning in MP
• Addressed an issue with Zombie pathing
• Fixed an instance of the player model displaying incorrectly
• Some unhandled exception errors have been addressed
• Improved server browsers refresh functionality when the Source is set to Favorites
• Added support for CODTV
• cg_DrawFPS 1 now only displays FPS and cg ms/frame
• Added RCon command “teamstatus” to display players team information
• Mods: Added joinsquad script function
• Mods: Players can now join CO-OP lobbies that are hosting map names with more than eighteen characters
• Mods: Users can now load custom maps when the usermaps folder contains fifty or more custom maps
• Mods: Removed the loading of duplicate assets that contributed to the 2048 materials error
• Mods: Increased the amount of mods displayable in the Mods menu
• Mods: Fixed a crash related to the mod.arena file

It’s the weekend so we are taking break from the serious Call of Duty 4 Strategy related stuff and looking at a cute little easter egg in the game. If you have ever looked at the back of a black or golden Mini Uzi closely you may have noticed there is a small dirt smudge of what appears to be a fingerprint on the back of the weapon. Take a look at the two images below to see what I am talking about, englarged enhanced image is on the right.

To me the ovalish shape and lines look like a fingerprint of a thumb; but feel free to share any other theories you have. No other weapons have dirt smudges of any sort and the smudge is on a part of the weapon that the players hand never touch when reloading. My theory is that one of the game developers scanned their actual fingerprints and threw that image on the Uzi. Do any site members have experience in identifying fingerprints or access to a fingerprint database so we can try to figure out who the prints belong to? In any case feel free to comment with your own thoughts/theories.

Cheaters of all sorts are an unfortunate aspect of any online multiplayer game. There are hundreds of hacks out there, most of which are infected with viruses to steal your CD keys or viruses. It doesn’t matter if you are playing on a PC, Xbox, or PS3 or any other type of systems, cheating happens. In an effort to educate gamers and discourage and prevent the use of aim bots lets take a look at some of the most common methods used to cheat in multiplayer games.

AimBots – An automated program like the own in the video above that aims puts your sights quickly and perfectly on the target players head. Most aimbots while efficient at getting kills, are extremely easy to identify because the rate of kills and number of headshots are so unnatural. There are aimbots which try to be more natural looking, but to an observant player they are easy to foil.

Playing Call of Duty 4 is a team effort, whether you are LANing with your friends, playing with strangers online, or joining up with your clan for a scrimmage. The team aspect of Call of Duty means coordinating between players is very important. Your fate and your teams fate often go hand in hand; ever notice that if your team is losing a game you tend to have a lower Kill Death Ratio? That’s the team part of Call of Duty for you. Getting your team to work perfectly as a unit is a pretty hard thing to do, particularly if you are just playing with strangers online. So to help improve team relations here are 7 things to avoid that would piss off your teammates in Call of Duty 4.

1. Blocking Doorways – It only takes one guy to sit in the middle of a doorway and create an impassable traffic jam. Eventually the problem will be solved when an opponent tosses a grenade into the doorway and kills everyone, but it that isn’t exactly an optimal solution. Sometimes you will get lucky and simply asking the blocking player to move will solve the problem. If friendly fire is on knifing them in the back also works.
