I dont know why but it seems that when I use a Barret with stopping power they survive 20% the time and when I use the M40 with stopping power they survive about 5% the time….I think it may be the poor accuracy on the Barret has less aim assist so Im constantly hitting the extier limbs intead of stomach shots…

Yes the M40 damage goes to 75 when equipped with the ACOG. That extra 5 damage means it’s the only Sniper Rifle that can single shot kill to the exterior limbs assuming you have Stopping Power equipped.

i think that the barrett is the best sniper because of its anti-juggernaut abilities and it can clear a room quick. All you have to remember is that the recoil will affect the next shot unless you hold your breath for a while.

I’m not much of a sniper, but when I do snipe, I prefer the M40A3 w/ claymores, stopping Power, and deep impact.

You sure ??? M40 uses the 7.62×51 mm NATO cartridge whilst the Heckler & Koch USP uses the 9 mm…hows that the same…

The bars on the Xbox 360 are totally inaccurate and say nothing about how the weapons actually work. Check out the weapon stats chart on this site which is correct and takes real data from the games program files.

The dragunov does have higher damage multipliers than the M21 so in some situations it does do more damage, but not always.

The M40A3 is the only weapon whose base damage is changed when it is equipped with the ACOG.

Stopping Power is useful with the Barret, it will give you more one shots against both Juggernaut and non Juggernaut enemies.

You forgot to take into account how accurate the sniper rifles are. The M21′s bullets rarely match up perfectly with the crosshairs. Same with the Dragunov.

Yes i totally agree i use M40A3 mostly, and the Barrett it’s really good especially with enemies that use Juggernaut, it’s better than M40A3, but the M40A3 has a bit better accuracy p:

The bolt-action rifles are generally more accurate than semi-auto rifles, which makes up for the slower fire rate. Also, a difference between the M40 and R700 that I have noticed is that the R700 sights faster. This compensates for the lower clip size and higher recoil, but doesn’t provide a really advantage for most players.

How does the .50 Cal with stopping power do more to enemies than the other rifles with stopping power? The damages is 70 for ALL of them and multipliers on the chart are ALL the same except for: Dragonov has slightly lower (1.0 vs 1.1) multipliers for stomach shots; M40 has a lower (1.1 vs 1.5) multiplier for chest shots; M21 has a lower neck (1.1 vs 1.5) chest (1.1 vs 1.5) and stomach (1.1 vs 1.0) multipliers.

i love using the agod m4 sniper rifle. especially on close range maps.
i use the scope for long range.

the best way to understand it is to force yourself to only use that gun for days, and using any other gun would be areat at some points, but once you figure how the m4 sniper rifle shoots and reacts it is friggin amazing.

no one can teach you how to use it you have to simply figure it out yourself

I think that the M40A3 is a way better gun than all of the other guns put together, its is a good gun with low recoil If you know how to use it you can be an amazing sniper. the M21 is an easy gun to use thats why all the trash players use it because it has low recoil so u can spray a full clip into someone and kill them that way which does not make you good.

Next in our series of Call of Duty 4 weapon reviews we have the Sniper rifle. Sniper rifles are unique and amazing weapons because of their long range and one shot, one kill ability. All of our hard numbers come are coming from our Call of Duty Weapons Stats Chart, the damage multipliers are particularly important here. Using the chart we see that all sniper rifles do 70 damage and have a damage multiplier of 1.0, 1.1 or 1.5. For snipers the golden rule is the one shot kill, anything less and you might as well be using an assault rifle. So what multipliers do we need to meet this golden rule? A 1.0 multiplier will never one shot kill an enemy unless he was previously afflicted damage. A 1.1 multiplier will one shot the enemy if you are using the Stopping Power Perk. Finally, a 1.5 multiplier will one shot the enemy without the use of Stopping Power but if Stopping Power it is equipped it will one shot an enemy equipped with Juggernaut. These numbers might be a tad confusing now, but they will be become more clear and useful as we review the weapons. Without further ado here our analysis and review of all the Sniper Rifles, scroll to the bottom of the page for the short version.

M21 – The hands down best sniper rifle for hardcore matches because players start with 30 health instead of 100 health. The M21 does 70 damage with relatively poor damage multipliers, but for hardcore it is still easily enough to guarantee one shot kills no matter what part of the target you hit. The higher damage values of the other weapons just aren’t needed. It also has an incredibly low recoil which means you can spam 4-5 shots in the target area with reasonable accuracy.

R700 – The high scope sway make the it very difficult to control and means it takes more time to hold your breath and set up a hot. For that reason and factors stated above it is worse than the M40A3 except in rare cases involving Juggernaut in Call of Duty.

Dragunov – The damage multipliers of the Dragunov means it is usually outclassed by the other sniper rifles, except when using non-Stopping Power Perks. This is because adding Stopping Power provides virtually no benefit to the Dragunov. With our without Stopping Power it can only one shot to the Head, Neck and Torso. This opens up options for Perk 2, like adding Overkill and the P90 to create a hybrid sniper/rush class. This versatility gives the Dragunov some small niche capabilities in Call of Duty 4.

M40A3 – The best bolt action sniper rifle when using the Stopping Power perk. With Stopping Power the M40A3 will one shot kill on all parts of the body except for the exterior limbs. The closest weapon to compare it to is the R700. The advantages of the M40A3 over the R700 are it’s higher bullet capacity and it’s much lower scope sway. The one thing the R700 has going for it is it’s higher damage multiplier for Stomach shots. This provides little practical advantage except for making it slightly easier to one shot enemies with Juggernaut.

Barrett .50 Cal – The best semi-automatic Sniper Rifle when using Stopping Power. Whether or not the Barrett is better than the M40A3 is a matter of opinion, but the weapons are very similar. The Barrett is slightly at one single shot kills to Juggernaut enemies while the M40A3 has advantages when it comes it recoil. Personally I prefer the Barrett because of it’s strength in close quarters. In a tight spot you can quickly spam a full magazine at close range and probably get a kill.

The bottom line: The M21 is best for hardcore matches, the M40A3 and Barrett for normal matches and the Dragunov has some niche hybrid class abilities.

The Barret 50.cal is not good with a scope. It bounces to far of. So get the ACOG scope for it and try it out. When you shoot it the recoil is much less. You should have sight of hand and steady aim if you run around with it.

Hands down, R700 is the best bolt action rifle. It has higher damage than the m40a3 without stopping power. Works best in my opinion with no augo scope (or watever that crap is) and blue tiger camo. Even though camo makes no difference. works great with silenced m4 carbines and bandolior and iron lungs perk

.50 cal is the best weather you like it or not. and if this game was realistic you would know what i mean. Its rang should be all the way up cuz a real one can hit a target dead on from 2 miles away and it should kill in one hit no matter what cuz the bullets are fucking HUDGE! and real ones just dont kill the fucking blow the target to pices.

R700 is 50/50 kill in one shot but it has to be upper chest or head shot M40 is 1 shot kill from legs up. .50 is good also but way too much kick. The class i use and perks is M40 with acog, 3x frag claymores or bandolier, stopping power, and steady aim. If your good at noscoping M40 is unstoppable with stoping power and steady aim.

I agree with everything that you said about the listed snipers, but I still prefer the R700 because I hate shooting people with the M40 and not killing them. I think that the R700 gets the job done usually in one shot and the swaying isn’t too bad when you’re aiming, or at least I gotten used to it. I also think that the R700 looks the coolest with Red Tiger as well. However, this is just my opinion.

I personally like the r700. It takes a lot getting used to but when you do, you can jack up kills like nobodys business. The .50 cal is nice if your in medium level but my options go to the r700

I recently found out that I preferred the Barrett over the M40 and R700. Recoil is a BIG factor for me, and the R700, where it wasn’t bad just couldn’t cut it. I enjoy having the ideal of 1-shotting people with a sniper but with the R700 I was only pulling that off with headshots. This of course being on a non-hardcore match. The M40 recoil is just too awkward for me, Yes it is an amazingly accurate sniper and can take out anyone without Juggernaut easily, But personally I can’t stand the recoil.

Basically when it comes down to it, For longer ranged maps I highly prefer a Barrett over a M40, Where as R700 isn’t even in the equation. For smaller maps I tend to use the M40 with an ACOG scope, This bring things into a whole new matter I won’t discuss.

TLDR: Barrett with ACOG. M40 with ACOG. My preferred snipers.

r700 is kickass i think its the best u just need iron lungs and a bit of practise and then its awesome!

M40 is clearly the best sniper! if your a skilled sniper ur not going to need the semi-automatic gun in hardcore so that takes away your M21. And barret way to much recoil for Regular because in reg most people will be moving around with jug and if you shoot them once and fail at the torso or head shot your target is lost, because coming down from the recoil you notice your target has fled. R700 Very good as the publisher said for rushing classes because stopping power does not matter. so in hardcore its useless, and u can use the M40 as the same rushing class but with less scope sway. And the Dragunov is a good sniper not for regular because its low damage and its recoil for a semi-automatic is bad, unless ur bored and want to put an acog on it and run around doing no-scopes and shooting randomly. So overall the M40 is the best you get good damage in regular with stopping power and without if its a high shot and in hardcore you can use for Noscoping, steady and skilled shots, or rushing class because u wont need the stopping power in harcore.

The m40 is the biggest noob weapon. The reason why it is so effective is because its for lvl 5 beginners. If you need the m40 to snipe with then do not snipe at all. I have no respect for ANYBODY using the m40 ACOG. The normal scope i have some tolerance fore but if you arent aiming for a 1 shot kill at long range, your not a sniper, the m40 is a ood no-scope because noobs will be causgt off guard with enemies, Certain guns like this should be blocked after lvl 30 because theres no need for it. (also the worst hit detection for the head so it forces you to 1 shot kill the body because noobs do not aim for the head)

What you missed in this review is that the R700 has better accuracy than the .50 Cal, but the exactly the same everywhere else except RPM. If you’re sniping, accuracy is the most important thing after damage. So IMO the R700 is the best.

I usually use the Dragunov coz ive got it gold n like to show off, but also coz it does beasty damage. A shot in chest or above will usually kill instantly and if you miss the chest, you can usually follow up with a quick 2nd shot because of reasonably low recoil.
If im on a big map or one great for snipin eg pipeline or overgrown ill use the .50 cal. little tip, DO NOT ACOG a sniper, its easier to scope, hold and fire than to scope n wait for the arrow to roll over your target. The only time ill use an M40 or R700 is when i find one on the floor and can get a snipe in at some point.
My sniper class: Dragunov (gold) or .50 cal (red tiger), silenced USP .45, claymore, UAV jammer and Iron Lungs. try it n see what you get.

To be honest I really Enjoy the M40A3 in regual gametypes and hardcore it’s just my kind of sniper. I can’t use the simi auto ones that well. A40A3 all the way.

The .50 cal, hands down, is the best sniper rifle in COD 4 for NUMEROUS reasons.

1.) Accuracy: amongst all snipe rifles is the same. You stead your breath, aim, fire and all shots, regardless of the rifle, will go EXACTLY to the same place. Having an accuracy rating for snipe rifles is a farce.

2.) Stopping Power: NUMEROUS times I have hit somebody with a M40 with Stopping Power dead in their torso, center mass, WITHOUT Juggernaut and they only flinch and move away only for me to get a ‘+2′ for somebody finishing him off. I am so tired of teh M40 FAILING to kill people that don’t even have Juggernaut, on the first shot. It does happen from time-to-time with the .50 cal but not nearly as much. If you want to put someone down on the first shot, use the .50

3.) Recoil: Yes the .50 cal has more recoil than the M40 but the game models after realism. The .50 cal’s design is linear, like the M16 so the gun doesn’t necessarily jump up but BACK. In addition, the .50 cal has springs and pistons that help absorb the recoil whereas the traditional M40 has a synthetic stock and jumps UP after firing, but not that much. Many of my friends who use the M40 state that for follow-up shots, the M40 is better but why would you need a follow-up shot if the .50 puts them down on the first one. In times where there are multiple targets, I can take 3-4 people down in just a matter of 2 seconds. The .50 cal can fire off second, third and 4th shots with hi accuracy compared to what most noobs think.

4.) Mag size: The .50 cal can help you stay alive longer simply due to the fact that it holds more ammo per mag and requires less reloading. How many times has a sniper been killed when reloading or just as bad, LOSES an enemy he could have shot at beause he was relaoding.

5.) CQB: There WILL be times when someone gets a little too close for comfort when you are sniping. Good luck on taking an enemy down under pressure and at close range with a bolt action that only hold 5 rounds. By the time you fire one round from your M40, you already have about 15 rounds heading towards you. At least with the .50, you cna use it as some kind of semi-auto cannon firing off multiple shots to take down an enemy very close to you. I’ve done it numerous times and I KNOW I would have died if I had an M40.

Overall, the .50 cal is the best rifle because it is JUST as accurate as all the other snipe rifles but actually puts people down, even thoswe with Juggernaut MORE than any other snipe rifle. Youc an even use it to take down choppers! It has a large mag, good recoil control, high rate of fire. It is simply the best snipe rifle in COD 4 without question. Take it from a guy who has a 2.58 Kill/Death Ratio.

Ha you say the barret is a noob gun when u say u use the m40. I mean I’ve used the m40 for a time it was a pretty good gun, but there was to many juggernoobs on gamebattles so I started using the .50 cal and it kicks ass. Also u have to actually earn the barret so it’s not a noob gun like the m40. Lastly, if u want good power for a sniper ur gonna have to deal with recoil, I mean it’s just pyshics.

I haven’t really tried all the snipers, when i started playing CoD4 i checked most of the movies to pick up some tips, almost everyone used M40A3.

Maybe that has changed now, but i still use it and it’s very good.

M40A3: Good beginner weapon, but won’t win matched up against a semi-auto.

M21: Okay for spamming, recoil is usually underrated. Was my favorite for quite a while.

Dragunov: Has beautifully low recoil, allowing you to take down targets quickly. Great all-around.

R700: The only reason I use this gun is because it looks cool (or if I want a challenge) it’s usually not practical.

.50 Cal: Anti-material rifle. In CoD4, you are not taking down material, thus not needing an anti-material rifle. Anti-personnel (the other sniper rifles) would be more fitting.

So, overall, I think the M21 wins.

i always used an m4 with a red dot scope, but i keep getting owned by snipers. what is the exacty set up reccomended (i read the entire page and need a bottom line reccomendation) i shot with them all and im fair with them all. i only want to take the time to get good with one of them, suggestions?

No offense, but I think that the r700 is the best, and recoil doesn’t really matter if you use a bolt action. It is stronger than the m40a3, more accurate than the m21, dragonuv and barrett.50 cal, and with stopping power, the r700 will land a torso kill even if the enemy has stopping power. Also if you follow the one shot kill rule with sniping, which anyone should, clip size doesn’t matter. Next I like the m40a3, which to me seems the most accurate.

I think that the .50 cal is the best sniper (only from past experiances). I currently use the Dragunov because it is semi-auto and has low reciol, allowing you to maybe not 1 hit kill, but at most 3 hit, and 3 hit is quite fast with semi-auto. My favourite sniper is the M40A3. I don’t actually scope, I ACOG. I use the ACOG becuase of 2 reasons:
1) I like using its 1-hit kill ability to take down enimies close up.
2) Me and my friend were online, against eachother. He was using Dragunov, me M40A3 with ACOG. I headshotted him peice of cake. Beastly kill. Same accuracy as normal scope but with less range, kind of meaning more skill.

I do agree with Mental4lyf-Neo about the m40a3 being the best ACOG gun, but it doesn’t necessarily mean more skill to headshot with one. It’s honestly not that hard. Another reason I think that the r700 is the best sniper is when I versed my cousin online at ambush, I missed only two shots with the r700, and he didn’t kill me once until I was out of ammo, and he was using the dragunov with stopping power. Overall, the score ended up me having 25 kills and my cousin who used the dragunov killed me a total of 4 times. Also the best assault rifle to snipe with is the m4 carbine with an ACOG scope. Try it.

I do use the M4 Carbine as my main weapon , just w/ red dot.
I now no longer use the m40a3, as getting kills is too hard.
As I do not prefer sniping as a fighting style, getting the acog was a challenge. I am only level 28, so I can’t use the r700 yet, so Dragunov or M21 is current choice. I like Dragunov, which is why I’m soon going to try for Blue Tiger with it, partly for the reason it is good close range aswell, just be a Trigger Happy asshole XD

Dragunov kills does not need stopping power, M21 does just to reach Dragunov damage, Dragunov leaves Perk 2 open to UAV Jammer, Juggernaut, Sleight of Hand, etc…… it’s better in every way except recoil.

Barrett kills in one hit to every where except limbs with Stopping Power, and it’s semi-automatic….. so it’s amazing in every way except recoil.

i believe the best sniper is M40A3 because i always choose accuracy over damage, whats the point of having all that power if you struggle to pull off one successful shot with the barret….as far as hardcore, M21 is the best sniper rifle, but i find the M14 with the acog is bettter because it has better accuracy when blind firing up close and shooting from far away, even though you cant hold your breath, its still steady and allows and open perk 3 like steady aim or dead silence… but thats just my opinion

All of you who say the M40 is a noob gun are retarded. Look at all the tenth prestiges and u see most of them use the M40 because of its good accuracy and damage. Those are the most important things on a sniper and the M40 has good amounts of both. Barrett is pretty good, but the accuracy isn’t as good as the M40 and it has too much recoil. Don’t talk like you know the game is you really don’t cause you think that just cause you have to get to a higher level to get a gun doesnt mean its better than all the rest (ex. MP44 earned Lv.52 WORST WEAPON BESIDES M60 IN THE GAME).

Ok, i used to never snipe until i got the r700, i thought it was good with the damage it did, then i unlocked the barret 50.cal and just thought of trying it out and not intending to use it, i was still a nooby sniper and the very first match i used it i got a killstreak of 19 at bog. i use neither of these snipers anymore, i always use the m40a3 the accuracy is great and the power is good if u have Stopping Power.
So overall the best sniper would probaly be the barret 50.cal but the m40a3 with acog is my personal favourite

Honestly, Im all over the place with snipers. Ive won the golden drag countless times. There isnt really a ” best sniper” its all to do with preference. After a little whil you get used to your rifle, its just how it works….and if you dont get used to it…then dont snipe. I personally love bolt-action both m40 and r700 are equal to me, but every once in a while ill shake it up with a semi. This nick guy doesnt have his head on straight. The m40 is not a noob rifle, its there for anyone to use no matter what skill level they are. Call anyone of us noobs, either way you’ll still be the one put down first. well ill say the m40 and m21 are the best to me.m21 cause i mostly play hardcore.

R700 is way better than the stupid barrett. barretts got way too much recoil to land a second shot if you miss the first one, and its not easy to hit the first one anyway. R700 has the best damage rating and its extra accurate, its just not a noob weapon. i dont even use stopping power and kills are so easy (i play a lot of Hardcore cuase im not a pussy) but they are still easy anyway. Dragunov is the best semi-auto though, better than the weak bitch M21 but the M21 is still good for hardcore but unlike most snipers i actually move around and stuff and im really good with any pistol. I use Iron Lungs and UAV Jammer and im damn hard to kill even in hardcore.

Ok, I like this analysis. I think it is completely accurate. Philly624, you are NOT damn hard to kill I’m sure. In a cage snipe battle, I would get helicopter perk every match. I achieved golden sniper within a couple months. I red tigered the Barrett in one day. You talk like your shit don’t stink and that you are the best sniper in the game but I guarantee you’re not even close to an elite sniper or player at that so I wouldn’t take what you said worth shit. The R700, while very nice and one of my favorites, has no practicality in close quarter and takes a long time (comparatively) to the .50 cal. I do agree, however, that the M21 is a bitch. It has no strength but is extremely easy to set on a headshot. All in all, the analysis is accurate and philly624 is still a pussy who might as well equip a LMG and run around spraying bullets while I pop a bullet throught the front/back/side of his dome piece.

I think the m40a3 is the best in hardcore because its powerful and very good for no scoping.

Personally guys. i think the barret 50.cal is the best, think about it , its recoil is , well i think its recoil is better than the m40 , it just seems like it to be . secondly the barret is auto rifel. where the m40 is bolt another advantage to the 50.cal . lastly even without the stopping power it is always 1 shot 1 kill . barret is by far better than m40 case closed >:D!!!

in my opoinion the M40A3 with stopping power is the best. it hast low recoil and with stopping power good damage and in hardcore matches u dont need stopping power at all. It has low recoil and if u canin aim, u do with most shot a sure kill except enemy have juggernaut.

The best sniper is M40A3 when you add a C4 in Search and destroy, claymore in t deathmatch and with Woodland or Digital, UAV jammer because you can snipe anyone without noticing him while the enemy UAV is on, and a steady aim or matyrdom or Iron lungs so u can snipe when holding you breath longer

the M21 is a great snper rifle but i also use the 50 cal.

I personally can’t decide between the M40A3 and the .50 cal. They just both seem to work just fine for me so I will switch them off every couple of matches that I use a sniper. The others, well, I only use them for challenges, and I try to avoid R700 if I can(I do not like it at all.)

I have just watched a few videos and they are freak snipers, they use a M4OA3 with an ACOG, me personaly am flash sniping wiht an dragunov and an ACOG and i have nearly got the 50.cal. Im not the best sniper but i still think they are awesome

i more like to use barret 50 cal in every sniping map…since it was the 1st favourite sniper i like….beside that i also got use dragunov…but is so far ok for us…n now i think that the R700 also the good sniper at all..(for me actually)…i not likely use m40A3 because almost same with R700…no any differents…so R700 is the best^^^^^^

Hmmm. Its a hard one. Dont get the m21, you just send a barrage of bullets towards enemy so why not use the SAW or summent?! I quite like tthe M40A3 but lets not get all stewed up about it!

i love the M40A3 with the acog scope one shot kills almost all the time and you can still snipe from a distence with the acog and its sick or no scoping

I personally think the m40a3 is more suited for accuracy and quick shots,it has less swing time ,less sway and needs less time to scope

The r700 is less accurate and needs more time to scope even though it mostly kills in one shot
The barret is less accurate ,but can spam bullets that juz might hit the target and it mostly one shot kills

So i like barret if i need ammo and m40 if i need accuracy

i personally like the m40a3, cause its the best for no -scope, quick scope AND hard scoping.
equipped with bando, stopping power, perk 3 of your choice [steady aim for me], and usp [not deagle], + SKILL + PRACTICE
with this class, you should be doing great in all your games with a minimum kdr of 2.

both are fine but in diffrent condition

If you wanna be a good sniperer then choose the .50 or maybe the M40A3 bút not any other or you will suck!

the “expert” advice at the top is just an opinion. the r700 is way better than they give it credit for.. dont hard scope with it(witch takes out the “sway”) and the m21 is good.. but its accuracy is not so great… the barrett is my least favorite sniper but its ok…the dragon is my 2nd fav. but it takes skill to use it.. and the m40a3.. nuff said:)

I actually like the M21, MW2 I actually liked the WA2000. Yeah these are the under dog guns, niether here or there. The m21 you must use Stopping power and hit the torso/head or you won’t kill them duh. I have better luck hard aiming with the R700 then the M40, I can’t hit a target with the M40 it’s inaccurate. I run these two set ups try em out and learn to hit the chest like a real sniper.

The M21 is definetly the best sniper rifle in the game it has barely any Recoil, no sway (IT’S WAY MORE ACCURATE THAN THE GAMES GRAPHS SAY). and for the damage, all sniper rifles in the game have 70 damage the only difference is the multipliers; all get a 1.5X instant kill for a headshot, and for neck all sniper rifles get 1.5X kill also. Except for the M21. However, this can be fixed with stopping power, head, neck and torso shots will be 1 hit kills.Now you would have a Long range, Semi-Auto(take down multiple enemy’s quickly) Sniper rifle With low recoil that can 1 hit kill a Non-Juggernaut enemy with a head, neck or torso shot So here is recommended class:
M21 Reg Scope
USP. 45 or Deagle
Nade: Smoke
P1: Claymores
P2: Stopping Power
P3: SA Or Deep Impct

How to have the perfect class, although it is the noobest thing possible.
Get your preference of semiauto sniper
Install a mod to let it fire like a full auto
Bind a hotkey to turn the mod on and off
Change to your pistol
Mark the crosshairs with blutack or something on your computer screen
Change back to sniper
When sniping, fire semiauto
When in close range, use the blutacked sights to aim and turn on your fullauto mod

There are no “noob” guns. There are guns that have better perks than others, such as the .50 cal’s damage in comparison to the M21′s far less recoil. My personal favorite as far as sniper rifles go is the Dragunov. Fairly low recoil and decent damage. Great combination, but if you want the guns that take a little more time to use but generally produce better results go with either bolt action. Both the M40A3 and the R700 provide great damage and accuracy. I remember I once went to Vacant with the R700 regular scope and pulled off 8 headshots running around inside, that was fun and is achievable with practice.

being a pro quick scoper, I personally think that the barret 50.cal ACOG with stopping power and bullet penetration perks is the best for quickscoping, and quickscoping ONLY! my normal sniper is either an m40 witt stopping power or the barret with stopping power. I prefer the first perk to be 3X frag, for you will be on the move a lot and can get some no see kills.

Quickscope
No Scope.( practically useless at long range)
(and yes, i know the double y tap crosshair glitch too).

I am a quickscoper, but on matches like wetwork I use a normal sniper.

forget what I said last. The Barret is THE BEST quickscoping rifle ever. and the thing is you dont have to pull out your deagle at very close range, you can just click shoot as fast as you can with the target in your crosshairs(no scope).
Ive found a flaw in cod4 as well. I was just practising quickscoping with my friends in a private match and My friend killed me when I had deagle equipped(Sniper on the back) and I went back to my body, looked at my back, and instead of a Barret50.cal ACOG red tiger it had a Barret50.cal normal red tiger!
