7 Ways to Piss Off Your Teammates in Call of Duty 4

Playing Call of Duty 4 is a team effort, whether you are LANing with your friends, playing with strangers online, or joining up with your clan for a scrimmage. The team aspect of Call of Duty means coordinating between players is very important. Your fate and your teams fate often go hand in hand; ever notice that if your team is losing a game you tend to have a lower Kill Death Ratio? That’s the team part of Call of Duty for you. Getting your team to work perfectly as a unit is a pretty hard thing to do, particularly if you are just playing with strangers online. So to help improve team relations here are 7 things to avoid that would piss off your teammates in Call of Duty 4.

1. Blocking Doorways – It only takes one guy to sit in the middle of a doorway and create an impassable traffic jam. Eventually the problem will be solved when an opponent tosses a grenade into the doorway and kills everyone, but it that isn’t exactly an optimal solution. Sometimes you will get lucky and simply asking the blocking player to move will solve the problem. If friendly fire is on knifing them in the back also works.

2. Aimbotting – Besides hurting the other team this actually pisses off everyone on your team too. That’s because you in your infinite aimbotting skills are stealing all of your teams kills. Aimbotting in Call of Duty 4 is cheating and bad for everyone, don’t do it.

3. Team Killing – Blatant intentional team killing is an obvious problem, but solvable by simply kicking the player. Unintentional team killing by a wild bullet or nade is a much more difficult problem to solve though. The person that got shot is angry that they have to wait respawn, and shooter should feel guilty for both hurting their team and wasting the time of their fellow gamers. The solution is to turn off Martyrdom and not blindly spam nades in hope of getting a kill. If you really like those things though you can always play on servers where friendly fire is off.

4. Not Going for the Objective – This is a big problem on Call of Duty Search and Destroy servers. If the player is facing what they perceive as insurmountable odds they will just camp out instead of trying to plant/defuse the bomb. They usually do this to try and keep their KDR high. If you want a high KDR you should be playing Team Deathmatch where a high KDR is the objective, not Search and Destroy. Not playing Call of Duty correctly is selfish, unfun, and guaranteed to annoy all players involved.

5. Fighting in Text/Voice Chat – Having insane 10 year olds screaming terrible insults at everyone in voice chat is annoying, but when seemingly mature adults to it it’s even worse. In that same vein racial slurs and excessive profanity are equally bad. Just remember no matter how real it is, Call of Duty is a game.

6. Breaking Server Rules – Server rules are there for a reason, and by joining a server you should expect to follow the rules the people that pay for the server decide on. If you don’t like these rules just leave and find another server to play on. Remember game servers are private essentially owned privately, so you cannot invoke your First Amendment rights to act like a jerk.

7. Being Terrible at Call of Duty – This is the most forgivable offense of the 7 listed here, but still something you should try to avoid. Everyone knows that player who just can’t seem to grasp how to play the game, they accidentally throw themselves off 3 story buildings, don’t know how to use their weapons and just generally are bad at Call of Duty. Everyone was a noob at one time though, so the best thing you can do is encourage the player to keep on trying and give them a couple of tips to improve at the game.

    whats aimbotting?

    HaHa intresting article.

  • Den

aimbotting must be a PC thing… interesting read more applicable to the PC game then 360 as most matches have friendly fire off in 360 matches. I’d say this whole article tho is resolved through speech just communicate with your fellow players and your sorted.

I’m getting components together for a gaming PC and look forward to swtiching to the mouse and keys for CoD4 is friendly fire normally on?

aimbotting is a bot (computer program) that automatically aims for you. This means guaranteed headshots. as well as, lock on through walls. their are also wall hacks that let you see through walls. (kinda like infrared) Basically, you could take m60 bandolier stopping power deep impact and strart unloading. Most of them also eliminate all recoil and automatically request kicks of other players to prevent you from being kicked. Other features include “human like actions” which become undetectable to the eye, because the bot won’t lock on in the sense that it will be noticable so you will look like you have godly accuracy but not inhuman. It is incredibly rare as I’ve only seen it a couple times in hundreds of hours and it is resolved fast, but annoying none the less. Btw their was one out for ps3 at release, but i’m guessing it was resolved.

For PC CoD4, friendly fire is almost always off (even in hardcore servers).

aimbotting won’t be solved anytime soon. People will just keep finding scripts and hacks to aimbot.

I just don’t see the point of playing CoD if you aimbot. What’s the point of playing an FPS if the computer helps you aim perfectly?

As Jeremy has already explained Aimbotting is the practice of using third party computer programs that have perfect automatic aim. They are available for purchase online but basically all of them either don’t work and download viruses and spyware to your computer to steal your CD key. Aimbots are a more prevelant for PC players but also exist for consoles.

geee what a loser you’d have to be to use an Aimbotter… whats the point in playing if your not testing your skills??? how do you combat it? everyone just leave? how do you know they are aimbotting? and how would I know if I am playing an Aimbotter on COD4 Xbox 360? I saw alot of Glithcers for Halo 3 didn’t play it much as it sucks ass

I’m surprised you didn’t say anything about communication. I’ve found that even if I can only talk to 1 or 2 people on my team we can play better as a team over all. The rest of the team usually forms up around our co-ordinated efforts. That being said, I’ve found that finding servers for PC where people actually own/use mikes is difficult.

Well i was caught by pb using hacks, such as aimbot. It sucks and now i dont hack..

  • iKe444

    DONT AIMBOT….. i know its fun….. but no… EXCEPT ON WEEKENDS…….. ha

Also when people don’t go for flags in domination or the headquarters well in head quarters and its annoying because ur wasting 20 lives for a flag while ur teamamtes are wooried about their k : r it pisses me the F**K off they need to cap it go for flags and not kills you get more points that way and if ur good more kills to

  • Peroz

Aimbotting is terrible… I always try to encourage the bad players by giving them pointers. One guy didnt know what “aiming down the sight” was! After i told him, He was shooting away like a spider monkey! Getting kills nearly every 10 seconds.

I have recently come upon a problem though… My Multiplayer just crashes!
I can play for about 3 minutes on any server and then it says “IWMP4 NOT RESPONDING!” … Wait, did I just get the kick or that happen to anyone else WHO ISNT BREAKING RULES??

Get back me if you`ve got a solution.
    [ This happens on V1.5

I hate when people boost. its really annoying on the console, especialy when there are those of us that want to play a game. I just played with people who were boosting, and it was really agrivating.

    He forgot something!

    0. Throwing a grenade at a player or planting a claymore and switching teams or going to spectator. the nade/clay will still be there and it will count as your kill.

That is really really annoying especially if your teammates are just snipe camping a place.

  • Dragco

Ive noticed alot of these A**holes on the PC version using hacks and whatnot, there even comming into a server and start advertising a site to buy hacks. Its like a TelSel television channel, they just keep on spamming and dont care they get banned, new name or account and another 10 customers, and there back at it again.

Those who use Aimbot and walhack are just losers, if you have to cheat, fine do it on SP, but get some bloody skills on MP instead of just relying on a hack to make you pwn.

  • lolz

im using these for lolz. ’nuff said
